About Us
Bama Exterminating Company, Inc. is a local, family-owned and operated business that has proudly served Tuscaloosa, Northport, and communities throughout West Alabama for almost 100 years.
While Bama originally specialized in termite control, the company has continued to grow and diversify over the decades. Today, Bama provides a wide range of residential and commercial pest management services while continuing to invest in education, technology, and modern treatment methods.
Through nearly a century of change, one thing has remained constant: Bama is still a local family business committed to taking care of its customers and community. David, Joseph, and Anna Beth are proud to continue the tradition established by the generations before them and carry Bama Exterminating into its fourth generation of family ownership.
Four Generations of the Northington Family
The same family has run Bama Exterminating since the very first service call in 1930.
- 1930
Robbie & Louise
Robbie Northington starts traveling from his hometown of Hamilton, Alabama to provide pest control services, with the help of his wife Louise.
- 1950s
Ted & Betty
Robbie’s son Ted and his wife Betty become owners of the company. Louise and Robbie remain an important part of the family business for many years.
- 1982
David
David Northington becomes the third generation of the Northington family to own and operate Bama Exterminating. Today he remains the owner and continues to lead Bama.
- 2018
Joseph
After working summers at Bama throughout high school, Joseph joins the business full-time. He has since gained extensive hands-on and operational experience and holds several pest control operator licenses.
- 2021
Anna Beth
Anna Beth joins Bama after graduating from The University of Alabama, and has become involved in several areas of the business including customer experience, marketing and growth.
